The six lines of this hexagram use “鸿雔 (Hóngyàn)- wild geese in English to symbolize the movement of the development. These geese are often associated with migration and symbolize freedom, teamwork, and the beauty of nature in Chinese culture. From the young wild geese catching up with the group, gradually flying and migrating from water to land, land to trees, to the valleys, and eventually flying high over the continent where its beautiful feathers can be used as decorative pieces to symbolize success.

There is a saying that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. so at an individual level, if you have a goal in mind, it is time to take a step with both feet, simply moving forward.

At the group level, like wild geese, flocking in groups and working toward a common objective with another requires unity and a common direction. Based on their capacity and aptitude, one may take the lead and the other a supporting role, learning the dance of each characteristic in synchronization and recognizing that patience, flexibility, and sensitivities are required for a harmonic dance to evolve.
